What I'm Working On
Supporting a two year initiative to upskill the 400,000 members of Africa's Leading Ladies in partnership with Distance Education for Africa, the New Zealand Embassy, and the University of Virginia. The program is built on a Community of Inquiry framework with four dedicated mentors. You can find me on LinkedIn here.
Accomplishments
Foreign exchange student in the Netherlands and the Czech Republic
World traveller - sailed down the Nile, took a train (3rd class) across India, climbed in the Himalayas, and relaxed on white sand beaches in the South Pacific.
Studied and graduated (RIT), then again (Stanford), and again (Project Management Professional), and again (Dr. Palmer), and again (Registered Yoga Teacher), and again (Online Teaching Certificate), and again (Harvard), and again (Certified Life Coach).
Bicycled south to north in the USA and west to east in Canada. I still remember seeing the Great Lakes and realizing I had BIKED there.
Worked at some amazing companies - Hewlett-Packard, eBay, Disney and University of Virginia.
Lead an educational outreach program to Africa that has now granted over 40,000 scholarships and reached learners in all 54 nations of Africa.
Published six books on how to scale an educational outreach program to create lasting economic impact and promote gender equality in Africa.
Presented hundreds of talks as an individual presenter, group presentations, panelist, and keynote speaker.
Won awards for the global outreach program for African learners: UPCEA Regional Award for Online Learning and the UPCEA International Leadership in Online Learning Award.
Built a beautiful, modern, minimalist house with a phenomenal view of seven mountains in Bend, Oregon.
Recipient of the Dianne Kipnes Social Innovation Fellowship from Fielding Graduate University, 2023.
